About Text to Speech
This tool uses the Web Speech API built into your browser to convert text into natural-sounding speech. No data is sent to any server — all processing happens locally on your device.
Available voices depend on your operating system and browser. Windows typically includes Microsoft voices, macOS includes Apple voices, and Chrome may offer Google voices.
Tips:
- Different browsers offer different voice options
- Chrome usually has the most voice selections
- Speed 1.0x is normal, lower is slower, higher is faster
- Pitch affects how high or low the voice sounds
- Use the Highlight tab to follow along as text is spoken
